I’m a professional indexer, translator, and editor, excited to work with authors across disciplines. I specialize in the fields of feminist and queer studies, disability studies, education, critical pedagogy, cultural studies, and German studies, although I am always excited to dive into broader fields, from the sciences to the culinary. My primary goal—be it with a richly crafted index, a careful translation, or thoughtful copyedits—is to help you produce a work that reflects your highest expectations.

Developmental editing and copyediting of college essays for NYC public high school students

I am based in Chatham, NY, where I live with my husband and our three cats. When I am not indexing, editing, and translating, I love to cook and bake, travel, garden, knit, and dream of beekeeping.

I was an educator for nearly 19 years. I taught undergraduate and graduate students in women’s and gender studies at Dickinson College, the University of Pennsylvania, and Vanderbilt University. At Penn and Vanderbilt, I served as the associate director of women’s and gender studies. I taught kindergarten and 1st grade for four years in Nashville, TN and in NYC, including at a bilingual German-American school. Most recently, I directed the Center for Learning and Writing at Bard High School Early College Manhattan, where I also taught in their seminar series. I’m passionate about pedagogy and I’m a lifelong learner!

I have my PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in German Literature (2013), an MA from Tufts University in German Literature (2007), and a BA from Boston University in German and Spanish (2004).
